Our family, Ruth my wife our two daughters; Christine and Kimberly, moved to Chandler, Arizona in 1987 from the east central, Danville, Illinois region. The moved was brought about by a job relocation and more importantly, a more friendly weather climate in Arizona. We love the 300 days of sunshine and only 7 inches of rain a year. No more snow, tornadoes, or humidity for us here in Arizona.

I have been fortunate to have had a few careers during my lifetime, starting with my enlistment in the US Army in 1964 with a specialty in food service. After a year and a half in Ft. Lewis, WA, our unit, the 178th Combat Engineers received order to deploy to Long Bien, South Vietnam, about 15 miles north of Saigon. After a 26 day cruise on a troop ship, we arrived in-country. During my year long tour, I earned the rank of Speck 5 team leader and received an honorable discharge in 1967.

Returning to Illinois, I completed a four year apprenticeship in machine bindery operations and earned a journeyman status in a commercial printing plant. A few years later, a good friend and I started a home construction business and we built quite a few single family homes in the area. Since homes sales and home building businesses are subject to cycles in the market, I attended our local community college and completed an Associates Degree in Computer Programming in Systems, with honors.


In 1988 I earned my real estate license from the State of Arizona. My accreditations include; Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), Graduate of the Realtor Institute (GRI), and the e-Pro internet specialist program.

I have created two websites for the public to enjoy; www.daverichter.com offers access to our MLS system in addition to other features. My other site, www.AZ55.com is focused on Active Adult homes and communities for retirement living.

By using what I have learned in computers, homebuilding and my real estate training, I am able to offer a wide range of information and resources to buyers and sellers in the Arizona marketplace.
